Id like to write up a small amount of text for each of the units I intend to take to B&C.
I want to use the Imperial Guard Codex to represent my Traitor Guard.
This piece is about Marbo (traitor Marbo);
The Chainblade came down, hard! Tiny metal teeth disturbed the marble floor, the painful sound making its way through the vast hall.
It missed its target, and instead, its wielder was outstretched and off his guard. Looking up from the mistake, his eyes met flush with the barrel of a las pistol.
It was the last thing he saw.
The contents of his head, warm and red, spilled from the exit hole charred into the back of his skull. He fell.
A second guard came to aid, albeit it was too late, but the trespasser had to be stopped. Dressed in a ceremonial blue robe, etched with fine silver stitching, the new guard raised his own chain halberd, two-handed, and went to bring it down on the intruder. Defending himself, the chainblade made contact with the laspistol, vapour still steaming on the barrel as it was wretched from his grasp. The weapon was rendered inoperable as it was flung to the other side of the hall, bouncing off stone columns.
The intruder, swiftly dodged, and made for a roll backwards. Flecks of yellow paint, mustard in its colour, came away from his armour plates in the commotion. As the guard readied another strike, the intruder found his footing.
Standing upright, close to six feet tall, the trespasser stood. Re-breathers made their way under his mudded hood and to his mouth piece, all-the-while, his eyes tracking his next target through the lens of the hood.
He was dressed as a serviceman from the planet’s Defence Force, but there was still something different about him. His armour was not maintained, and was now faded and dirty, and his identity has been concealed by the hooded mask. He carried a smaller satchel at his waist, drawing a large black blade from the scabbard on his other side.
It had recently tasted blood.
The intruder, obviously a traitor, should not be this close the throne rooms of the Hive, and should not have been this difficult to stop. A greater power had blessed him with speed and cunning, revealed by the pointed stars and symbols adorning his attire.
Blade in hand, he lunged toward the remaining guard, striking a blow across the haft of the chain halberd. Another set the guard on the back foot, pressuring him to give ground.
The guard had stumbled backwards, and the traitor took full advantage of it. Powering a slash length ways across the chainblade, he forced the end of the halberd to the ground. The same painful noise of chain teeth against marble rock found the air.
With the chainblade carving the flooring, the intruder leapt toward the guard.
Using his body and momentum, deadly black dagger poised, the intruder made contact with the guard as his defenses were open. Crashing into his body, the blade pierced the guard’s neck, a highly pressured spray of red mist ejected from his wound.
The bladed tip protruded form the guard back, his head almost severed.
The traitor got to his feet once again, using his boot to remove the body of the guard from the clutched of his blade, and replaced into the scabbard.
He drew a new weapon, the satchel from his waist. Prepping the satchel – a highly volatile explosive charge – the traitor made his way to the throne room at the end of the hall with every intention to bring Chaos to this city.
Their time had come…
